the development of chapter 1

so project 2shot's first full chapter has taken....longer than I said it would. when I released the prologue in november, I thought that I'd have it finished by spring. then I said by june. since then, those months have passed and obviously there's nothing. this is for a variety of reasons - I've had a lot of disruptions, had to sit exams and had a pretty bad mental health crisis (I'm doing better now !!! do not worry). now that I have six weeks of no school, I'm going to settle down and actually finish this stuff. hopefully.

where am I in development? I have around 20% of the coding left to do, 15 main cgs, 10ish less complicated cgs, some more sprites to draw and basically all the music. when I say it like that it sounds way more than I always assume it to be. making a game is hard wow who would have imagined.

so when should you expect it? erm. listen I've said it a million times before - "soon!!" "next month!!" "june!!" and now I'm going to say...eventually. in an ideal world, I sit down and lock in and finish by the end of the summer holidays. realistically, though, I'm an unmotivated teenager with a terrible work schedule. however, september is going to be the deadline I set myself. how much I stick to that will be completely up to circumstance and myself, but I promise you I am working hard. once I finish, I'll be sending my close friends a version of the game to test it out and make sure there aren't as many errors as the prologue came out with. I'll let you know once that process has started so you know when to get excited. thank you for your continued support of the project in the nine months since it's initial release :') it means a lot to me.

you can find updates in the meantime on my twitter, @sillymachiine. until next time,
